# E-mail sending from your hosted site

The e-mails your site sends (for example confirmations, sign-in codes and team invitations) go out through **OsDot's mailbox** from the start, so they work on day one.

- **Sender name:** your site's name.
- **Replies:** where the product lets us set a reply-to address, replies go to your own e-mail address.
- **Volume:** our mailbox has an hourly sending limit shared by the sites we host. For newsletters or large volumes, use your own e-mail service.

**Switching to your own SMTP, at any time**

1. Get your e-mail provider's SMTP details: server, port, username and password.
2. In your site's admin, open the e-mail (SMTP) settings and enter them.
3. Send the test e-mail the settings page offers.
