Getting Started with Academy & Exam OS

Academy & Exam OS is a coaching, learning and examination platform for institutes. You install it on your own hosting: it runs your public website, the staff area, the student area, the question bank, mock tests, courses and payments. The source code of a Flutter student app for Android and iOS is included and connects to your installed website.
This guide explains what you receive and the order in which to set everything up.

What every edition includes #
Every commercial edition of Academy & Exam OS includes:
- the PHP web application with its browser installer;
- the Flutter app source for Android and iOS;
- the complete offline documentation.
The software licence is a one-time, perpetual usage licence. Support is separate from the licence: Self-Service is included, and Priority Support is an optional yearly plan. Normal software updates do not depend on Priority Support. See Support Options.
Editions #

To confirm that the download is intact, run the following command in the extracted folder (or compare the hashes with any checksum tool):

Web/folder in a private place. The package itself contains no secrets, but the installation you create from it will.

Recommended setup order #
Install the website first. The mobile app is built afterwards and connects to your installed website.
- Check that your hosting meets the System & Hosting Requirements.
- Upload the files and run the browser installer: Installing Academy & Exam OS.
- Single Site and Multi Site only: enter your software licence key when the installer asks for it. See Licence Activation & Deactivation.
- Complete the First-Time Setup: cron jobs, e-mail, branding, legal pages and a first backup.
- Build your syllabus and content: Question Bank, Creating & Managing Mock Tests and Courses, Lessons, Videos & PDFs.
- Optional: Payments & Orders, AI Provider & AI-Generated MCQ Practice and the Communication Hub.
- Build and publish your institute’s app: Flutter Mobile App — Setup & Configuration.
