Academy & Exam OS
Getting Started with Academy & Exam OS
What is included in every Academy & Exam OS 1.0.2 edition, what is in your download, and the order in which to install and set up the website and the mobile app.
System & Hosting Requirements
The hosting environment Academy & Exam OS 1.0.2 needs: PHP 8.3 or 8.4 with the required extensions, MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.11 / 11.4 / 11.8, database privileges including TRIGGER, HTTPS, URL rewriting and an every-minute cron job.
Academy & Exam OS Installation Guide
Upload the web application, point your domain at it, and run the seven-step browser installer: setup token, requirements check, database, site setup, owner account, installation (with licence activation for Single Site and Multi Site) and success.
Licence Activation & Deactivation
How Single Site and Multi Site installations are activated with your software licence key, how the Software license page works, how to deactivate an installation to free its slot, and why the Reseller / White-Label edition needs no key.
First-Time Setup
The checklist to complete after installing Academy & Exam OS: sign in, schedule cron jobs, configure e-mail, brand the website, add legal pages, set up streams, syllabus and staff, remove demo data and take a first backup.
Cron Jobs & Background Worker
The cron jobs Academy & Exam OS needs: the every-minute worker that seals, grades, exports and reconciles payments, the Communication Hub worker, the hourly licence renewal (Single Site and Multi Site), hosting-panel examples and maintenance mode.
E-mail & SMTP Settings
Configure outgoing e-mail for Academy & Exam OS in the staff area and send a test email. Sign-up verification, password resets and e-mailed announcements depend on it.
Demo Data (Mode B)
Mode B installs a synthetic evaluation dataset with three demo accounts so you can explore Academy & Exam OS on your own server. How to find the accounts, regenerate their passwords and remove the demo data exactly before going live.
Staff Area Overview
A map of the Academy & Exam OS staff area: the Overview dashboard, every menu group and page, which roles see them, and where each institute setting lives.
Users, Roles, Batches & Access
Roles and permissions, student registration and verification, assigning staff roles, exam streams, the syllabus tree, batches and enrolment, timetable and attendance, and Google sign-in in Academy & Exam OS.
Question Bank
Create, preview, approve, search, import and export questions in the Academy & Exam OS question bank: question types, LaTeX and mhchem notation, images, revisions and the CSV template.
Creating & Managing Mock Tests
Create a Mock Test, configure timing, attempts and result release, build sections with fixed or randomly drawn questions, map approved questions, set marking, and publish an edition. Up to 200 questions per attempt and 20 sections.
Student Test Experience, Attempts & Results
How students find, start, save and submit Mock Tests with a server-controlled timer and offline recovery, how staff mark written answers, release results and regrade, and what students see in their results.
Courses, Lessons, Videos & PDFs
Publish PDF materials, video lessons (self-hosted MP4 or YouTube) and structured courses with progress and completion certificates; manage the media library, assignments, access and what students see.
AI Provider & AI-Generated MCQ Practice
Connect your own OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude account to Academy & Exam OS for staff question drafts and student AI-generated MCQ practice, with a monthly usage limit, per-student limits and an output validator.
Communication Hub
Switch on the Communication Hub, send announcements to all eligible students or selected batches through the in-app inbox and optional e-mail, schedule them, and check deliveries in the ledger.

Manage your institute's public website without code: homepage slides, sections and featured content, blog, pages, FAQs, menus, About page, legal pages with consent, contact inbox, SEO, and the mobile-app showcase with store buttons.
Payments & Orders
Sell access to premium tests and content with packages: configure Stripe, Razorpay or PayPal and their webhooks, offline payments with proof and staff approval, coupons, manual access grants, orders and refunds.
Flutter Mobile App — Setup & Configuration

Building the Android App
Set your Android application ID, name and icon, create your own upload key, build a signed release App Bundle or APK with the production profile, verify it on a device, and fix common build errors.
iOS Project & Xcode Requirements
The iOS project is included in the Flutter app source. Building and signing it requires macOS, Xcode and your own Apple Developer account. The iOS build was not independently certified for versions 1.0.0 to 1.0.2; verify the archive on your Mac before submission.

Brand your own Academy & Exam OS installation and app without code: site name, logo, favicon, colours, footer text, business profile, the “Powered by OsDot™” footer setting and the app's name and icon. Reselling is covered separately.
