The app for your stylists in Salon Booking OS
Your stylists use the same app as your clients. After signing in, a stylist whose account you linked chooses Continue as a stylist and sees only their own work: today’s appointments, their schedule, their alerts and their account. Nothing else changes for your clients.
Giving a stylist the app #
- Give the stylist their own sign-in: invite them under People (see Your team’s sign-ins). One account each; never a client’s account.
- Link the account to the stylist: on Salon → Stylists, open the stylist and choose their account under Sign-in account. Choose No sign-in account to unlink it.
- The stylist installs your salon’s app and signs in with their e-mail address: with Send me a code, or with Sign in with a password where your app shows it.
An account that is not linked to a stylist only ever sees the clients’ side of the app.
Choosing a side #
The first time a linked stylist signs in, the app asks how to continue: Stylist (“Your appointments, your schedule and alerts.”) or Client (“Book, see your bookings and shop.”), then Continue as a stylist or Continue as a client. The app remembers the choice for that account until it signs out: to switch later, sign out and choose again.
The four tabs #
- Today — a greeting, how many appointments the stylist has today, Your appointment now or Your next appointment, Later today and Coming up. Only their own appointments are shown.
- Schedule — My schedule: their working hours and time off for this week and next, as the salon set them under Salon → Stylists. Time off is asked for at the salon, not in the app.
- Alerts — the salon’s notices to the stylist. A stylist is alerted in the app and by e-mail when an appointment is booked with them, moved, given to another stylist or cancelled. The number of unread alerts shows on the tab. An alert never shows a client’s address or phone: the stylist opens the appointment for them.
- Account — the stylist’s own photo, “Stylist at” with your salon’s name, My work with My ratings, Appearance (Light, Dark or System), signing out and Delete my account.
An appointment’s page #
Tapping an appointment opens its page: the service, the day and time, the client, and where it stands.
- Marks. On the appointment’s own day the stylist can mark Arrived, Start the appointment, Mark completed and Mark no-show, as the front desk can. Before the appointment’s day no mark is offered.
- At the salon or at home. An appointment at the salon shows your salon’s name. For a home visit, the client’s address and phone show with Call and Directions from the start of the day before the appointment until a few hours after it is completed; before and after, the page says the address is hidden.
- On my way. For a home visit the stylist can tell the client they are on the way, or running late, with an arrival estimate. The app reads where the stylist is once, at their tap, and never keeps it; the stylist can pick a time instead. On my way is off until you turn on Booking: “On my way” alerts with an arrival estimate for appointments at the client’s address under System → Website settings.
- No longer theirs. When an appointment is given to someone else or cancelled, its page says it is not theirs any more and shows nothing more of the client.
Payments. The app takes no payments. In this version a stylist does not record payments in the app: payments taken at the salon are recorded in the administration area (see Deposits and paying at the salon).
Ratings #
My ratings shows the ratings clients gave the stylist in published reviews (see Reviews).
What the app keeps and shows #
- Nothing of the day is kept on the phone. With no connection, Today shows the day as it was loaded, with No connection and Try again; marks need a connection.
- The stylist’s photo in the app is the picture they uploaded themselves under My profile on the website; no one else’s upload shows there.
- Deleting the account. Account → Delete my account deletes the stylist’s sign-in account, its devices and its alerts, and their photo and rating stop showing on the website. The salon keeps its own records of their appointments under the stylist’s record.
